The College Rank and Tenure Committee
The College Rank and Tenure Committee (CRTC) is established in Article V, Section 5 of theÌý: “The College Rank and Tenure Committee (CRTC) shall (a) provide feedback to departments on tenure and/or promotion dossiers, (b) independently review candidates, and (c) advise the dean of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø on tenure and/or promotion cases and policy.
The committee is intended to ensure the rigor and clarity of promotion dossiers across the wide array of College departments, while preserving the strong voice of departments in these processes. The CRTC shall complement the current procedures for consideration of promotion and tenure of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø faculty as described in the Faculty Handbook and the university guidelines for tenure and promotion.”ÌýMembers of the CRTC are full professors in the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. There are eight members–four appointed by the College Executive Council and four appointed by the Dean of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø–who serve two-year terms.
